Leica M9 does Lokrum Island...
A 20 minute boat ride from Dubrovnik is the small island of Lokrum. With its closeness to the city and the crystal clear waters it is a place you just have to visit.
Some of the yachts laying anchor around Dubrovnik.
A saltwater hole on the island, with no visitable link to the sea called " The dead sea"
Ruins of a discontinued Monastery on the island.
Taking a break at a minute little church on Lokrum.
The water is crystal clear and around 26 degrees!
All images made with the M9, 35 + 50 mm Lux's.

Leica M9 does the streets at 5 am in b+w in Dubrovnik, part 1...
To shoot a old city like Dubrovnik and really capture the feeling it has to be in Black and White. However, this is a very busy town and you need to be one of the first ones on the streets to capture the sleepy town.
Empty chairs outside a coffee shop waiting for the day's gossip.
At 5 am it was only I, a few local market stall owners and lots of pigeons in the streets. It was beautiful!
At the main gate, the first visitor of the day?
In a side street, more empty chairs.
Setting up the market.

Leica M9 does the streets at 5 am in b+w in Dubrovnik, part 2...
The best thing about being up so early is that you can enjoy making images, - no people in the way, it is cool and you can just take everything in so much better.
Just me and the pigeons.
A shop owner entering the town.
Clean and ready.
Going out of town for the day.
Lone figure in the streets.
What intrigue me about this man was that he was sitting, drinking a beer at 5 am, on the steps of the church? The lady didn't pay him any attention.

Leica M9 does Dubrovnik, Part 2...
One of the Fort's just outside the walls.
Enjoying the early morning.
With daytime temperatures around 36 degrees, this man is out at around 6 am to get some cool air. It gets quite hot in summer but you can buy homemade ice cream everywhere and all the water in the city's fountains are cool and drinkable.
If the heat gets unbearable this hidden away little bar is a lifesaver! You can also jump of the rocks into the sea.
There is no shortage of restaurants. The only problem you will have is choosing the right one for your hunger!
