Leica M9 and people on the street in Croatia who don't give a dam...

Have you ever traveled, even in your own neighborhood and saw someone on the street that are just to cool to care? Leica M9 does Dubrovnik, Part 2...

With daytime temperatures around 36 degrees, this man is out at around 6 am to get some cool air. It gets quite hot in summer but you can buy homemade ice cream everywhere and all the water in the city's fountains are cool and drinkable.

If the heat gets unbearable this hidden away little bar is a lifesaver! You can also jump of the rocks into the sea.

There is no shortage of restaurants. The only problem you will have is choosing the right one for your hunger!

Leica M9 does Dubrovnik, Part 1...

The city of Dubrovnik is something to see, - simply breathtaking if history and European cities are your thing. There is so much to see and do that I will post a few parts on this magnificent city.

The port of Dubrovnik has yachts, sailboats and cruise ships all over. This being a World Heritage Site it is one of the highlights in the Adriatic Sea.

Passing over this magnificent bridge to enter the city and working your way down to the Old Town is an unforgettable sight as you travel past the port.

Every person visiting Dubrovnik comes to see the Old Town and if possible, you have to stay in it. With little cobble stone streets and restaurants all around this is simply spectacular!

Above is the main street in Dubrovnik's Old Town. With structures as old as the Islands surrounding it, the town certainly has something for every visitor.

Leica M9 does Ston...

On the way from Split to Dubrovnik you pass the beautiful little town of Ston. There are three things that Ston are famous for;

The first is that Ston have the longest walls protecting a country in Europe.

The second is that Ston have 22 salt manufacturing plants, seen here in the background, that are still working the way they did hundreds of years ago,

and thirdly Ston have hundreds of oyster manufacturing plants in the warm lagoon that almost surround the town.

A church that was badly damaged in an earthquake that hit the town hundreds of years ago.

A beautiful little town with a laid-back atmosphere and warm, friendly people where the local cosine is the best.

Leica M9 on a coastal road in Croatia...

The road from Split to Dubrovnik is just over 200 km but the trip will take you around 3-4 hours! The speed limit is around 60-80 km/h due to the fact that there are literary a small village every few kilometers with the most spectacular coastline and beaches.

The beaches and sea is inviting and warm. The villagers are friendly and the local cuisine is fantastic!

Along the this coastal road you will also have a few of quite a lot of the 1400 Islands of the coast of Croatia!

What will a road trip be without some customs officer asking for your passport? On the way you drive through about 20 km of Bosnia. This is the Bosnian town of Neum and to be honest there is almost no noticeable difference between the two countries coastlines.

Leica M9 does a little trip around the island,- by sea...

So one day on the Island of Brac we decided to hire a little boat and explore the coast local style.

With my boy in charge of the boat, my beautiful wife lying on the front of the boat in the sun and a few cold ones in the cooler box, this is the life!

With little deserted beaches around every corner, we could stop and swim whenever or whereever we wanted.

We passed many small little villages like this one with win yards and Olive orchards all around. We ate lunch at one of these villages and had great local fish dishes.

Eventually we ended up at this Military tunnel. No one could tell us what it was used for but it look suspiciously like a stop place for a submarine.

By the time we returned to Bol the beach was deserted. It was a great day.

Leica M9 does the Island of Brac...

From Split we took a two-hour Ferry ride to the Island of Brac. The ferries are huge, with cars, bikes and passengers on them. There are coffee lounges to spend time in but most people hang out on the decks and admire the beautiful view.

The ferry arrives in the town of Supetar. From here it is a short ride through Olive plantations to the other side of the island to the town of Bol where we stayed.

The little town of Bol is absolutely pristine, not a leave or pice of paper out of place! The locals are just so friendly and the seafood is the best!

With crystal clear water and a warm sea, yachts and boats from all over the world visit the island.

The world famous Golden Horn beach was on our doorstep and a favorite.

Local boys fishing and with long days where it only get dark at 10 pm and a three moths summer holiday, this is just the best world for these boys.
